Classes & Retreats

Our classroom is available for use if you are planning a visit to Salt Spring Island. We are pleased to offer the courses listed below, or we can develop a specific workshop for your group. You may wish to bring along your own projects and book classroom space for your private use. Please contact the shop for more details and prices or refer to our newsletter for a listing of our regularly scheduled classes. If you need accommodation, Stitches has negotiated a corporate rate at a local hotel for visitors taking classes from us.

	Texture Learn how to use fibers, fusible web and embellishments to create unique backgrounds in this 3 hour class. Sewing machine & supply list are required for this class. Kit Fee $10.00 + tax.
	Embellishments Learn how to make tassels and decorative cording using wire, yarns, threads, beads and fibers in this 3 hour class. Sewing machine & supply list are required for this class. Kit Fee: $5.00 + tax.
	Tyvek Introduction to tyvek paper & fabric. This versatile product can be stitched, distressed & burned to form 3-D shapes such as beads or landscape elements in this 3 hour class. Kit Fee: $5.00 + tax.
	Stabilizers Students will be provided with samples of dissolving, heat sensitive and shrinking stabilizers. This 3 hour class will include a demo on creating branches and leaves. Sewing machine & supply list are required for this class. Kit Fee: $10.00 + tax.
	Shine & Shimmer This 3 hour class will introduce students to foils, metal shim and metallic threads. Sewing machine & supply list are required for this class. Kit Fee: $10.00 + tax.
	Bark Create texture such as bark, rocks or moss using a variety of products & the application of heat. This 3 hour class covers tyvek, felt & a demo on puff paint. Kit Fee: $10.00 + tax.
	Angelina Fibers and Films This 3 hour class will cover fusing, stitching, distressing and layering this versatile product. Students will be provided with a variety of samples. Kit Fee: $10.00 + tax.
	Painting fabric Introduction to painting using a variety of natural & man made fibers. In this 4 hour class students will paint a variety of samples. Kit Fee: $10.00 + tax.
